Deadline for submission of online applications for 2025/2026 Session 

Saturday 8th November 2025. Applicants are Advised to complete and submit their applications before this date.  Portal will shut down at 12:00pm on Saturday, 8th November 2025. No application will be processed after the date stated above.

The University of Sierra Leone (FBC, IPAM, COMAHS & School of Postgraduate Studies) wishes to inform the general public that it will open the online Portal for the online applications process on Wednesday 20th August 2025 for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses tenable at Fourah Bay College (FBC), Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) and College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

The Portal also makes provision for application into the University’s eLearning Master’s programmes in Business Administration, Journalism & Media Studies, Communication & Development Studies, and Public Relations & Marketing Communication.

Prospective applicants can now pay an application fee at the Union Trust Bank, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Commerce and Mortgage Bank PLB (CMB) and Rokel Commercial Bank in Freetown or any of their branches in the regions at the cost of  NLe 500.00 for Undergraduate and NLe600.00 for Postgraduate Courses, respectively.

Note: The DEADLINE for the purchase and submission of applications for Undergraduate Programmes is Saturday 20th September 2025.

Diploma and Certificate courses at the University of Sierra Leone are terminal programmes. Applicants from Diploma and Certificate programmes who wish to apply for degree programmes must fulfill the University’s minimum entry requirements

Degree Programmes

The University entry requirements for Degree Programmes are five credits obtained in not more than two sittings with a minimum of C6 in English Language at the General Certificate Examination (GCE) ’O’ Level or West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). In addition, applicants must satisfy Faculty and Departmental requirements for admission into the various programmes. Applicants with General Certificate (GCE) ‘O’ Level results must explain at the interview why they are only applying now.

In the case of the GCE ‘O’ Level Exams, only grades ranging from 1 to 6 are recognized as credit passes; for WASSCE A1-C6, whilst for the Associate Examinations Board (London GCE ‘O’ and A Level) only C or better is recognized.

Diploma and Certificate Programmes

For admissions into the Diploma and Certificate programmes, applicants must obtain 4 Credits for Diploma and 3 Credits for certificate courses including C6 in English Language or better at WASSCE/GCE ’O’ Level. Applicants with IGCSE falls under this category.
